CHANTELLE (KOLESNIK) MACDONALD.
DIRECTOR & CINEMATOGRAPHER
Hello!
I’m Chantelle, an award-winning Director of Photography and the founder of Human Impact Stories. I have over 12 years of experience working in the film and advertising industry as a Director, Cinematographer, Photographer, and Editor, specializing in cinematic documentary storytelling. I began my career at Deluxe Design Group (DDG) and then Critical Mass, where I collaborated with organizations such as Every Mother Counts (founded by Christy Turlington) and DePaul University in Chicago. Those experiences gave me a strong foundation in both creative and brand-driven work.
Since then, through Human Impact Stories, I've focused on creating independent documentary and branded storytelling work grounded in trust, connection, and authentic human experience. My work has been recognized for cinematography and documentary excellence.
I started this company because I believe everyone has a story worth telling. Through film and photography, I help people share the moments, struggles, and triumphs that shape who they are. In short, I’m a storyteller.
For me, storytelling is deeply personal. I love working face-to-face with people, listening to their stories, and transforming those conversations into honest, human-centered visuals. Whether it’s through a cinematic documentary or a single photograph, my goal is to create connection and make every story feel seen and heard.
Human Impact Stories is about building trust, celebrating humanity, and leaving a lasting emotional impact.
